Case Study
Screening for growth conditions using micro-Matrix
Screening of large number of cell lines, specific media or target drug could be tedious and expensive work. This is also the case for the characterization of multiple bio-engineered strains generated with mutagenesis protocols. Particularly in the case of yeast, culture condition screening has also been widely evaluated: several works have focused on parameter variation during cultivation, such as temperature or dissolved oxygen (dO2). Pichia pastoris has in particular been highly studied as it has been reported to be one of the most useful and versatile systems for protein expression. The study of the effect of these parameters on the growth of P. pastoris is therefore essential.
