VWR seals deal to expand single-use portfolio

VWR has acquired PAW BioScience Products to expand its single-use portfolio.

The provider of product and services to laboratory and production customers acquired the manufacturer and distributor of sanitary fluid handling products used in the biotechnology, biopharmaceutical and diagnostic industries for an undisclosed amount.

PAW's primary business focuses on single-use connectors and components, custom design and assembly and product distribution supporting the cell culture and purification processes.

Founded in 2000 and based in Eatontown, New Jersey, PAW serves customers across the US.

Manuel Brocke-Benz, president and CEO of VWR, said the deal complements its existing single-use product and service offering.

"VWR bioprocessing customers will now have access to an even broader range of innovative products in our single-use portfolio, including the PAW SterilEnz and OmniTop Sample Tubes lines."

With sales in excess of $4.3bn in 2015, VWR works with customers in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, industrial, education, government and healthcare industries.
