Rentschler expands biomanufacturing line with GE’s automated liquid chromatography system

CDMO Rentschler Biotechnologie has added GE's 1000th ÄKTAprocess, which is an automated liquid chromatography system built for process scale-up and large-scale biopharma, at its site in Laupheim, Germany.

ÄKTAprocess has gone into operation as part of Rentschler’s recently expanded single-use manufacturing suite, which also deploys GE biomanufacturing technologies such as the XDR 2000L bioreactor, and the associated seed trains of 50, 200 and 500 L.

Peter Rogge, VP USP Production at Rentschler, said, “This line will further enhance our ability to deliver high quality projects for companies around the globe and is providing increased capacity in Europe of next-generation manufacturing capabilities.  GE continues to have the innovative tools and expertise to deliver the high quality products and services demanded by companies like us.”
