Appointments at Catalent, Cytel and Laureate Biopharmaceutical – People on the move

Outsourcing-Pharma presents its latest round up of movements in the pharma outsourcing sector, including appointments at Catalent, Cytel and Laureate Biopharmaceutical.

Catalent Pharma Solutions has appointed Tim McFadden as vice president (VP) of consumer health softgel. McFadden worked at Wyeth, and later Pfizer, for 19 years before joining Cardinal Health.

Cytel has hired Jim Baker as VP, clinical research services. In his 28 year career Baker has worked at Amgen, Wyeth, Parexel and, most recently, Millennium.

Ann Daus has joined Laureate Biopharmaceutical as VP, quality. Daus has previously held quality-related positions at ImClone, SmithKline Beecham and Johnson & Johnson (J&J).

Pharmaceutics International Inc (PII) has named Rampurna Prasad Gullapalli as VP of drug delivery technologies. Gullapalli joins from Elan Pharmaceuticals and has also worked at Chiron, Purdue Pharma and Banner Pharmacaps.

Louis Payet has been promoted to VP, corporate development and alliance management at Invida. Payet joined in March 2010 having previously worked at Frost & Sullivan and Asia Pacific Bioventures Consulting.

Also, Ninia Torres has joined Invida as country manager for Philippines. Torres has worked at Warner Lambert, GlaxoSmithKline, Eli Lilly and AstraZeneca during her 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry.

TGaS Advisors has appointed Chris Goins as VP, management advisor and James Elliot as director, management advisor of its training and development unit. Goins has worked at Wyeth and Janssen Pharmaceutica. Elliot joins from Bristol-Myers Squibb.

Sean O’Connor has been named VP of sales and marketing at SeraCare Life Sciences. O’Connor spent most of his career at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, a unit of J&J.
